lynai asked: You're good at Snipes, yeah? Any tips? I'm trying to get better at Spy and Snipes but with Snipes, I kind of FREAK OUT. :||| Getting headshots are difficult for me and when I've been in one spot for ten seconds I think 'MY POSITIONS BEEN COMPROMISED. SPYS BEHIND ME.GOGOGO' I've gotten better but DAMN it's hard. OTL

The most valuable advice I was ever given for the betterment of playing sniper was “Caaaalllllllllm dowwwwwwnnnnnn”.

I, too, tend to be a twitchy, nervous sort of gamer, and that’s not conducive to the sniper’s playstyle. If you find yourself panicking, or twitching your mouse around the screen, or firing five or more shots and missing, stop for a moment. Take some deep breaths. Stretch your wrists, adjust your sitting position, and calm your mind. Think “I am a calm, lethal badass and I am going to take my time and wait for those heads to cross my line of fire”.

As for changing positions, I heartily recommend it. If you’re tearing the other team’s face off, they will send the spies after you or try to countersnipe you, which is easier if they know right where you are. I typically camp out in one spot until I need health or ammo, and then change my position after hitting up the resupply. If you’re still nervous about spies, the Razorback works nicely as a deterrent. I prefer spy checking with Jarate, myself.
