The sculpt is done! I’ve used a heat gun to melt the surface of the clay just enough so that I could press burlap into it. I brushed the burlap and exposed plaster with vaseline, and now I’m ready to make my mold.
I just need to go buy some more plaster.

It’s nowhere near completion, but I’m excited about this project and I wanted to share it with you guys.
Here’s a 70% complete sculpt of my Scarecrow mask for our upcoming Batman: The Animated Series group (to be debuted at Anime Central 2012). I’m going with the New Batman Adventures redesign of the Scarecrow. When I first saw this character on TV in the 90’s, I shat a brick. It was the most grotesque, dark, disturbing, and fucking COOL character I’d seen in a cartoon at that point, just next to Clayface from the same series. I loved it. Also, he’s voiced by the Re-Animator. Fun fact.
Now, with newfound materials and knowhow, I’m going to make this thing happen.
I’ll keep you all posted :D
